Jack Russell Terrier

Males  |  Females  |  Puppies

    History of the breed:

The Jack Russell Terrier originated on England in the 1800, thanks to the efforts of Reverend John Russell. He developed a lineage of Fox Terriers to satisfy his needs: a dog that could run with his Foxhounds (a hunting breed) and could go into the ground to get the fox and other animals out of their dens. Two varieties were developed, with similar standards. The differences are basically the height and body proportions. The higher one, with a square proportion is known as Parson Jack Russell. The smallest one and slightly longer is the Jack Russell Terrier. The breed obtained definitive recognition in 2003 by the Fédération Cynologique Internacionale (FCI), the governing body of world cynophilia.
